Hikurangi Link – new Tuesday service!

The Hikurangi Link will offer a new Tuesday bus service, in addition to the existing Thursday run, from Tuesday 3 October 2023.

This route runs from Whangārei to Hikurangi and back in the morning and afternoon, every Thursday. From 3 October, it will run every Tuesday and Thursday. Click here for the new timetable information.

The fare is $3 one way, with discounts available to young people and Community Service Card holders. Tamariki aged 12 and under travel for free. This is a cash-only service at present.

Bus Fares

Fares vary on BusLink routes, you can check your route at the bottom of this page.

Concessions (discounts) are available via the Community Connect Scheme. These concessions make public transport cheaper for families with children and young people and for people with a Community Services Card.  

Concessions are available as follows: 

Children aged 0-12 

Children ages 0-12 travel free. For more information go to children and young people

Young People 

Young people aged 13-24 travel for half-price. For more information go to children and young people

Community Service Card holders 

Community Service Card (CSC) holders travel for half price. You will need to travel with your Community Services Card and show it to the driver on boarding the bus.

If you are aged under 24 you may be asked for ID as proof of age.
